The Duke and Duchess of Sussexes enjoyed a night out with Prince William and Kate Middleton at the Royal Foundation Dinner at Victoria House
No photos were shared by Kensington Palace’s social media accounts, but Tom Walker, the performer of the evening, shared some photos of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex at the Royal Foundation Dinner. The caption said: “I had the absolute honor of performing for and meeting The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge & The Duke and Duchess of Sussex for the annual @kensingtonroyal #RoyalFoundation dinner last night.”
The dinner took place at Victoria House in Bloomsbury. Designed by Charles William Long, Victoria House is a Grade II listed building located in Bloomsbury Square, London WC1.
The opening of the whole building took place on 8th August 1932 – before that, it was only possible to visit the Northern end of the building, which formally opened on 23rd June 1926.
Tonight’s dinner isn’t Kate and Meghan’s only evening event together this week. Both duchesses attended Prince Charles’ 70th birthday party that the Queen threw for him at Buckingham Palace. While no photos were taken of the event inside, photographers did capture the couples in the car leaving Kensington Palace
Anita Rani, the host of tonight’s dinner, also shared some snaps on her Instagram captioned: “Such an honour to be asked to host the annual Royal Foundation dinner last night. Brilliant the Fab Four have come together to influence change. It was a wonderful evening!” She later added: “Go Meghan and Harry! We chatted weddings and feminism. It was a huge honour to host the event last night.”
Anita has hosted a range of popular shows, including Countryfile and This Morning, as well as presenting the BBC’s coverage of major royal events. She has often been vocal in her support of the Royal Family and once claimed that her mother talks about the royals “like they’re our extended family.” She added: “They crop up in every conversation!”
When the news about Meghan and Harry’s engagement broke out, Anita posted on Instagram praising the couple.
She wrote: “Feminist, self-made, intelligent, beautiful, independent, mixed race. My kind of [crown emoji].” Adding “Congratulations @meghanmarkle and Prince Harry #rolemodel.”
She then replied to one of her fans, further praising the couple: “Don’t you think it’s significant that a senior royal is marrying someone biracial? For Britain, this is major.”
For tonight’s Royal Foundation Dinner, The Duchess of Sussex wore:
The rich navy silk Roland Mouret Aldrich Strapless Midi dress. The style is from the Resort ’17 collection, inspired by the secluded Mount Street Gardens in London’s Mayfair.
She accessorized with her Birks Snowstorm earrings
