While it was never in doubt Prince Harry would attend the games, Meghan’s attendance was only confirmed earlier this week. The couple flew first-class commercial from LA overnight on Tuesday for a quick stop at Windsor on their way to The Hague. The couple’s office revealed they visited The Queen. “We can confirm that they visited the duke’s grandmother, as we previously said he hoped to do,” said the spokesperson. “They stopped by the UK on their way to The Hague to attend the Invictus Games.”. It is believed that prince Charles was there to meet the couple as well.

The Sussexes are believed to have stayed overnight at their home on the grounds of Windsor Castle’s Frogmore Cottage, where Harry’s cousin Princess Eugenie now lives with her husband, Jack Brooksbank, and their baby son, August.

The Invictus Games clearly mean a great deal to Meghan and Harry and the lead-up to the 2022 Games will also be the subject of their first Netflix project, a docuseries called Heart of Invictus. (There’s no premiere date yet for the show.)

The games will run from April 16 to 22 and Meghan is expected to spend the first few days of the competition with Harry, while Harry will stay in The Hague for the full duration of the games

Prior to arriving at the event, the couple attended a welcome event hosted by The Hague’s US Embassy for Team US and Team Ukraine athletes, who gifted Harry with a calendar from the organization Come Back Alive.

The couple was greeted at the Nations Home venue on the grounds of Invictus Games Netherlands by The Hague’s Mayor Jan van Zanen and the chairman of Invictus Games 2022 chairman Mart de Kruif.

2022 marks the fifth Invictus Games and will, presented by Jaguar Land Rover, see more than 500 competitors from 20 nations compete in a series of adaptive sports.

Participants will compete in ten sports: athletics, weightlifting, hand archery, indoor rowing, a Land Rover driving challenge, wheelchair basketball, wheelchair rugby, cycling, sitting volleyball, and swimming. Sir Keith Mills, Chairman of the Invictus Games Foundation, said: “We believe the next Invictus Games will act as an inspiration to competitors and those attending or watching at home.”

Harry launched the games in London in 2014, after seeing a British team compete at the US Warrior Games in Colorado in 2013, a competition for wounded servicemen in the U.S.

Back then, Harry said in a press release: “At its heart, the Invictus Games is about empowering every single person around the world. It’s a worldwide display of resilience, determination, and community for which each of us can draw inspiration.”

Harry also said during the New York City’s Intrepid Museum Gala in November that he created the Invictus Games “to honor the legacy of those who have given so much” as well as to show “that the men and women who have experienced service injuries, as well as their families, are the strongest people in the world…and they deserve a platform to be seen, a platform to be recognized and a platform to be truly celebrated.”

Now that Harry is living in California, Team Australia thought it appropriate to continue the tradition of gifting stunning new budgie smugglers to the Duke!

The Ambassador for the Australian Embassy in the Netherlands Matthew Neuhaus shared some snaps from the episode

Meghan rocked her first public appearance of 2022 wearing an all-white ensemble featuring wide-leg trousers with a matching oversized blazer by Valentino.

Her blazer is the Valentino double-breasted wool blazer in white. It is described as “showcased in this double-breasted blazer. Boasting a feminine silhouette, the sophistication feel is further enhanced by the elegant ivory white hue.”

The pants are the Valentino tailored high-waisted trousers in white. They are described as “Designed with a straight-leg silhouette, these trousers from Valentino have a tailored aesthetic. The high-waisted pair is made from a virgin wool and silk-blend in a sleek white hue.”

Meghan carried the Valentino Garavani One Stud crossbody bag. “Introduced for SS22, Valentino Garavani’s One Stud bag is defined by its envelope silhouette and statement Rockstud embellishment at the front, an iconic house motif. Crafted from soft leather in Italy, this accessory can be worn across the body or at the shoulder thanks to its adjustable strap.”

  1. Love them and missed them so much!!! It’s great to see them back doing engagements. Harry is such a great man for founding these amazing and inspirational games and Meghan looks stunning as always (by the way the duchess has the best taste in jewelry, I always love how she accessorizes her outfits). I’m wishing them a great stay here in the Netherlands (I wish they’d come to Amsterdam though so I could see them…hopefully one day it’ll happen). Does anyone know if the kids are with them? I mean I doubt it (Meghan’s probably going back to the US earlier than Harry to care for their children) but one can hope: I’d literally die of happiness if they brought their kids to an Invictus event!
