The Queen’s Commonwealth Trust has partnered with the organization to bring 53 young leaders from across the Commonwealth to the event. And in her role as the Vice President of The Queen’s Commonwealth Trust it was very fitting for Meghan to attend.

Today marks the third time Meghan is attending the event. Her first time was back in 2014 at the Dublin summit, where her focus was on the importance of women’s rights and men’s role in achieving equality.

She attended a panel of young leaders, saying: “You need men to effect that change because at the end of the day, I think what scares people this idea female empowerment is somehow threatening. No, it’s not. You empower women, you empower the community.”

She attended again back in 2016 at the Ottawa summit, which was officially opened by the Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

“One Young World invites young adults from all over the world who are actively working to transform the socio-political landscape by being the greater good,” Meghan said of her decision to be a counselor. “They are delegates who are speaking out against human rights violations, environmental crises, gender equality issues, discrimination, and injustice. They are the change.”

She is proud to attend as Vice President of the Queen’s Commonwealth Trust and to continue her long-standing commitment to this very important summit”

“When I was asked to be a Counsellor at One Young World my response was a resounding ‘yes’. One Young World invites young adults from all over the world who are actively working to transform the socio-political landscape by being the greater good. They are Delegates who are speaking out against human rights violations, environmental crises, gender equality issues, discrimination, and injustice. They are the change.”

When arrived, Meghan was warmly welcomed by One Young World counsellors including Doutzen Kroes. Bob Geldof and Ellie Goulding before making her entrance.

Now look at that entrance! She was welcomed on stage by founder Kate who tried to curtsy while Meghan went straight for hug instead!

The appearance today comes days after she opened up about the difficulties she has faced over the past year as a royal.

Tonight’s event brought together 2,000 people from more than 190 countries and took place at the Royal Albert Hall.

The Royal Albert Hall is persisted as one of London’s most exciting performance venues. In opened back in 1871 to carry on just 36 shows a year. That number has developed a lot through the years, and today it hosts roughly 400 events a year. In 2021, it will be celebrating its 150th birthday.

For tonight’s event, Meghan recycled her purple Maxwell Artizia dress we saw for the first time during their January engagement in Birkenhead when she was expecting Archie.

She styled it with her Manolo Blahnik BB pumps in navy suede

Over the next four days in London, young delegates will take part in speeches, panels, networking and workshops. And later this week, Meghan will hold a round table discussion with several of the One Young World leaders to discuss the issue of global gender equality
