Following their engagement with Mayor Bill de Blasio and Governor Kathy Hochul at the One World Observatory this morning, Meghan and Harry Meet with us Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield, the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, for a private visit at her apartment.
Meghan and Harry’s meeting with Linda came ahead of the vaccine equity fundraising event in Central Park on Saturday as part of their role as official co-chairs for Global Citizen Live. According to Linda, they discussed “the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, racial justice, and the importance of mental health.”
The meeting came after Linda hosted a health and foreign leader with President Joe Biden yesterday at the COVID-19 Summit (held on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly. Meghan and Harry expressed their support after the US pledged to donate a “historic” extra 500 million Pfizer and BioNTech vaccines and donate it to lower-income countries – as well as challenging world leaders to vaccinate 70% of every country by Sept 2022.
Joe Biden said:
“This is an all-hands-on-deck crisis. America will become the arsenal for vaccines as we were the arsenal for democracy in World War II,”
Biden said
“The US has already shipped 160 million of these doses to 100 countries. For every one shot we’ve put in an American arm to date, we are now donating three shots globally,” the White House said in a statement.”
The Ambassador described the meeting with Harry and Meghan as “Wonderful”
Meghan herself has a long history with the UN as an advocate for UN Women prior her marriage
“When I was just 11 years old, I unknowingly and somehow accidentally became a female advocate,” Meghan said at the UN Women’s “20th anniversary of the Fourth World Conference of Women in Beijing” event in 2015.

The Sussexes work today concluded with a roundtable discussion in partnership with World Health Organization (WHO) at their office in New York, for a “dialogue on the urgent need to achieve global vaccine equity.” with world leaders, health officials and experts

Building on ongoing conversations we’ve had with global leaders over the past 18 months, today further reinforced our commitment to vaccine equity. We’re so encouraged by the spirit of collaboration we heard throughout our conversation and are eager to do our part.”
Some of those in attendance in person included daughter of former US president Bill Clinton, Chelsea Clinton, Assistant Director-General of WHO, Stewart Simonson, and the Director, Office of Global Affairs, US Department of Health and Human Services, Loyce Pace,
It’s also been reported that Harry and Meghan are staying at Carlyle Hotel in New York, which was Princess Diana’s favorite New York City hotel.
Known as New York’s ‘Tower of Power’ which enjoys spectacular roof top views of Central Park, was designed in Art Deco style and built in 1930, today The Carlyle boasts 190 rooms and suites.

It’s also been reported that Meghan and Harry were spotted last night during an outing with her friend Misha Nonoo and her husband Mikey Heiss in Bemelmans Bar at their hotel. No wonder they had an amazing night together!
